A reason to blog

Arabista at Middle East Youth on why blogging, despite its time consuming nature and occasional negative feedback, is still worth it:

'What we are doing as bloggers may seem insignificant initially however you just don't know which post, which sentence you write, which comment you leave can make a world of difference to someone out there...'

Personally, I think I blog to have a forum to express my views, to keep a record of them and make them public. It's a way of connecting with the wider world, a way perhaps to influence it and, by reading other bloggers, new sources and posts, to be influenced by it. It's a way of showing the work I've done and what my reactions can be to political developments and viewpoints - I often find I can debate against both sides of an argument, so blogging can assist in defining which side, if either, I actually fall on.

That, and it's an excuse to write with some passion, some creativity and hopefully some wit.
